Anyone here play FFXIV?

Was wondering if anyone plays it, would recommend getting it? i know it bombed when it first launched, but i have been hearing interesting things(like patches adn 2.0?) about it around the web. Just trying to find a few opinions.

I heard it's being completely revamped and turning out to (most likely) a better game. I would wait...
All of my friends who played it commented that it was pretty horrible and had stopped, and most went back to playing FFXI if they were playing that before.

I actually played this for quite a bit. Killed Ifrit and got most of my jobs to 50, but after they started to make you pay for the game I quit. Might come back for 2.0 if it's good enough but I don't know. Definitely not playing until then, it was pretty bad still haha.

I started FFXIV a couple of weeks ago, the intro and whatnot went well, graphics are beautiful, then i get to the city and logout, log back in a few days later, and every 2-3 seconds, the game becomes unresponsive, if i'm running in 1 direction, it locks and keeps running that way, i get the red latency icon next to my name etc, and it's LITERALLY every few seconds. I have 12mbps net, tried forwarding the port used for it, lowered graphic settings, all to no avail... I'm on the Wutai server and this is making me REALLY frustrated. I've been wanting to try this game since it came out, regardless of how badly the game bombed, I still want to play. PLEASE HALP! I have cookies!

It would disconnect me randomly when i was at home, but that was because my router sucks D:, in my apartment i havent been dced yet. I am on saronia server!

I would check your router and see if that's the problem first, or make sure your pc specs are right and fan and everything works properly.

If you have a ASrock motherboard though you can download XFastlan http://www.asrock.com/feature/xfastlan/
and have it prioritize ffxiv over other stuff so it lowers in game lag.

That's the online game right for the PC, How was it I was going to start playing it before I realized I can't sit down for more than half an hour and you can roll around with a PC, or a labtop. But if it is worth playing i wouldn't mind trying it out. Need new games until Kingdom hearts: Dream drop distance comes out.
