. Recently, though, I've considered reading that series a few times. Eventually I decided to pick it up but i couldn't find downloads for the first few volumes.
Awww, that's to bad. Actually, the tankobon is translated and sold by Viz Media, but if you want to check it out before buying, Mangafox and Mangareader.net host it too.
Hey, in what order do you guys usually read anime and manga? Manga first, then anime? Anime and then manga? Just manga? Usually I won't watch an anime of a manga I've already read, while I'm more willing to check out the manga of an anime I like.
I mostly go for whichever was the original source material. The exceptions:
Initial D [Wasn't aware it was a manga, watched anime, though I started reading from the fourth stage and then lost interest. I think it's better animated]
Yu Yu Hakusho [my brother got the anime and i didn't know it was originally a manga]
Law of Ueki [Same deal as above]
Full Metal Alchemist [watched both series of anime. And the film. After seeing the first series I planned on reading it for the original storyline but that didn't happen and then i heard that Brotherhood was awesome. Which it was]
Azumanga Daioh [watched anime. It works really well as an anime too, perhaps better then what a 4-koma can deliver]
Trigun [watched anime. I'll probably read the manga later as the storylines are different from around the middle]
Hajime no Ippo [watched first series and the specials first, then started the manga but eventually skipped ahead to new material. Then I stopped reading manga for a couple of years. I'll probably watch the new anime instead of continuing the manga]
Spiral [Which had a terrible anime ending so i'll be reading the manga]
Freezing [watched anime, biggest waste of my bandwidth ever]
Afro Samurai [watched mini-series first, but they have different storylines]
Akira [saw the movie when i was around 3]
Hellsing [The end of the first series was extremely disappointing. I'll probably read the manga but i can't help but think that seeing it animated in the OVA might be better]
GTO [was watching the anime first, then I thought I lost it. Then I found it but wasn't interested so gave it to my friend. Then read the manga...I ought to ask my friend for it back]
Naruto, Bleach and One Piece I started watching the anime a couple of years after I started reading them mostly because i wanted to see the fights animated [especially Gaara vs Naruto]. I have no interest in continuing watching [or reading, for that matter] the first two but the anime of One Piece was very good.
So, generally, if the anime differs and still got good reviews then I might be interested in viewing both. If the source material is a VN or novel/light novel then I'll watch the anime instead of reading the manga or novel [e.g. Wolf and Spice] especially if it's an action series [e.g. FMP]. Sometimes the fan translations of novels use English that irritates me for some reason. Though as another season of Wolf and Spice seems more and more unlikely with he passing of time i'll probably start reading the manga. Or perhaps order some light novels.
