I've recently found that Trace is being published in Japan. It went through some interesting changes. Such as, Tae Eun is now "Akane" and Ghang Gwon is now "Yuu". Plus all the art as been redrawn for the manga format and is now black and white.

You can check the first two chapters here.

the korean art is better than this new one,,,,
i think that the charm of the original TRACE was in his art, the caracter's faces were so adapted to the story (specially the eyes are soooo expressives)
anyway, i cant imagine how the japaneese will draw the green haired boy (the one hwo shoot with his fingers)

Seriously? I can't decide whether to be super excited or dreading what may happen to the adaption. I guess I understand changing the names from Korean into Japanese, but I still don't like it. Will they change the setting too? Turn the Seoul landscape into Tokyo? I think part of the series' appeal is the cultural background that it came from and is set in. Then again, it's not like the US hasn't done that to anime before, and some of those adaptions still became pretty popular...

One possible pro could be that Trace gets animated but if that's the case, I really hope there's no filler episodes.

I've seen other manhwa get translated for the Japanese market. The few examples I've seen tend to add more fanservice.

More fanservice? Well, I wouldn't mind a little bit, but I hope that if they do spice the adaption up it wouldn't be too over the top. Generous pantyshots and boobshots would totally conflict with the darker themes of the story.
On another note, the thought of Trace getting maybe, possibly animated if-the-stars-line-up-just-right is very exciting.

Well, I'm an older guy. I just find myself not interested in teenaged panty shots mostly because I've seen that way too many times.

I would find it rather funny if the Trace anime gets produced in Japan and the inbetween animation done by... S. Koreans.

I do remember another manhwa that did get more fanservice when it was published in Japan, Unbalance x2. That title got added nudity.

I liked trace. I dont see why I should read the japanese version, I mean its just black and white and its not the original one so I will just ignore it.

ps: I would really want to know what his series after trace was about.

There is a few reasons why there's a Japanese version.

1) If one looks at how manga typically looks like you'll notice it's almost always black & white, except for a few first pages in certain chapters. If the Japanese publishers tried to turn the webtoon art into the manga format, the art would look horrible.

2) Webtoons and webcomics as the S. Koreans and we know them seems to be rare in Japan. The only Japanese webcomic I know of is Axis Powers Hetalia. I've also heard that mangaka in general don't like the idea of webcomics for some reason.

The main point is it's for the Japanese audience. I just look at it just to seem how's it's different from the original.

I think he does, but it's not related to Trace. He's promised a continuation at some point so I'm hoping he'll keep his word.
