Cheese In the Trap Part 2 Chapter 14 – Start of the Relationship (4)SummarySul wonders what Jung gave to her. She finds the keychain from before. She then realizes that there is something more in the bag, and finds the hairpin she wanted earlier. She is very excited, but then remembers how expensive the hairpin was, so she wonders if it’s okay for her to take something so expensive so easily. She wonders if it’d be rude for her to return the present back to him.
The next morning, Bo Ra calls. When Sul gets to Bo Ra’s place, Bo Ra yells: “Ah, damn it!! This is crazy! My Victoria Secret…!!” (which is a women’s undergarment brand) to Sul. She then stops when the repair man finishes his work. They go inside.
Bo Ra tells Sul that a pervert appeared in town, and he stole all the underwear around the neighborhood. The unni next door got her valuables stolen, and Bo Ra got her underwear stolen as well. Sul realizes that this is the reason why Bo Ra was getting her key lock fixed. Bo Ra is in rage because of the incident, and tells Sul: “You be careful as well. Seeing that he robbed this whole block in the neighborhood, he seems like a real nasty one. You don’t know what more he’ll do!”
Sul asks if Bo Ra contacted Eun Taek. Bo Ra explodes, and yells to Sul that she can’t contact Eun Taek, since his cellphone’s off. She tried contacting his home as well, but he wouldn’t pick up. She mumbles: “Ah shit… Maybe something happened…? Ah!!! I don’t know anymore!!! I’m not gonna care about him anymore!!!” Sul tells Bo Ra that this is strange, since Eun Taek would come running to them whenever they called. After the conversation, they have nothing else to talk about.
Bo Ra shouts that this is awkward, and that she wants them to act the way they had before.
Sul tells Bo Ra that she wanted to meet Bo Ra because she wanted to tell her something. She tells Bo Ra: “My dad’s business collapsed.” Bo Ra freaks, and bombards Sul with questions about what’s going to happen to her. Sul tells Bo Ra that her family is still fine, and it’s just that her dad quit his business because of the bad economy. They don’t have a lot of debt, and her mother is opening a noodle shop, so it’s nothing severe yet. Sul slightly regrets telling Bo Ra so directly. Bo Ra says that that’s a relief, and hugs Sul, asking how hard it must have been. Sul continues that this is why she was working part-time, and she’s going to have to leave her room as well. She adds: “The trip… I think that’s a bit difficult for me right now. I think I might not be able to go at all… Ah, but of course, I wanted to go with you guys as well. Anywhere… To be honest, it’s still a bit embarrassing to tell you all this still. And… I was sort of envious of your and your father’s close relationship… so I couldn’t tell you much. I’m not too close with my father. So I think that’s why I couldn’t tell you even more. I think that’s why I didn’t think of your situation, like a child. I’m sorry.” Sul tells Bo Ra that she’s not bothered by Bo Ra or Eun Taek, and she wants to remain friends. It’s just that it was difficult to express this, so Sul tells Bo Ra that she’ll try hard to tell her anything that happens.
Bo Ra yells: “No!!!” She explains: “It’s not that you didn’t tell me everything…!! It’s that I was so embarrassed of myself for acting so childishly because I didn’t know your situation… It’s that I hated the fact that I acted like that to you!! I! I thought that I was your closest friend, but it didn’t seem like that. And the situation with Oh Young Gon, Eun Taek knew it but I didn’t…! I felt isolated!! And again! Last year, when you collapsed and the doctor said it was because of stress! You seemed to have a lot going on other than just the scholarship, but you wouldn’t depend on me. And you suddenly talked about taking a leave of absence, and you didn’t reply even when I asked. I didn’t want to be seen as forceful, so I couldn’t ask more…! Eh~!!! I don’t know!!!” Bo Ra tells Sul that she got too emotional, and she wasn’t trying to complain. She apologizes for pushing things too much her way.
Bo Ra confesses: “I was envious of you as well. You didn’t act so stupidly like me. You were clever. You were close with your mom… I don’t have a mom. My parents got divorced a long time ago.” She explains that her mother barely contacts, and her older sister lives overseas, so it’s just her and her father, and that’s why the two are so close. She adds: “But you would have calls your mom, she would worry for you… I was really envious when I saw you talk about those sorts of things.”
Sul realizes that she never really heard about Bo Ra’s mom, but even while she noticed something, she never knew it would be this. She wonders if Eun Taek knows this, but she then assumes Eun Taek probably knows. She panics as she realizes how much she talked about her mom in front of Bo Ra. She then realizes that Bo Ra must have felt the same way.
Bo Ra apologizes to Sul, and asks that they be a bit more honest with each other. Sul promises to try hard as well.
Sul thinks to herself that while they apologized, only time and effort can mend the space between them. She still wonders, however, if it is okay to talk about this sort of personal problems with others. She hands her present to Bo Ra. Sul thinks that telling everything to somebody might actually increase the distance between the two. But, she is happy that she has a friend that would make her wonder about these sorts of problems.
Bo Ra freaks when Sul tells Bo Ra that Yoo Jung gave her the hairpin. Sul explains that she met Jung often. Bo Ra tells Sul that Jung is definitely hitting on Sul, and talks to herself: “Sunbae’s a total player, hm? If he got her a part-time job, and he’s taking a summer class, that’s all the evidence you need! I guess a couple will be born very soon…!” Bo Ra tells Sul that they should go buy some clothes, since Bo Ra needs to go buy underwear as well. Bo Ra adds though: “Ah, but I had put my onion dish bet on the Yankee.”
Eun Taek’s sisters hang up the phone call that came for Eun Taek again. They wonder why he’s acting like this. One suggests breaking the door down. The other tells them that since he’s still eating his meals, they should wait and see what happens.
Bo Ra is angry that Eun Taek isn’t picking up, and Sul wonders if something really happened. Bo Ra tells Sul to lock her doors carefully, because the pervert is around. Then they look for clothes.
AP Huh calls somebody, but they won’t pick up. He tells: “You’re dead, Gong Joo Yong!!”

Very long summary for this chapter particularly. Mostly because Sul and Bo Ra's dialogue got really long.
