Hello,

I'm pretty sad to announce you that we won't be scanlating Cheese in the trap for now. The author stated he/she didn't want his/her webtoon translated, since naver has the diffusion rights and all... But we are trying to find a solution to continue the scanlations. It may take some time before we can start scanlating this webtoon again. You will have to wait until sometime in February to know if we will continue or if we will drop the project. We are doing our best ;)

For the impatient ones you can read the raws for the last chapter here:
http://comic.naver.com/webtoon/detail.nhn?titleId=186811&seq=26

PS : don't e-mail the author, nor post a message on his blog please. It would only worsen the current situation. We are working on a solution, except news soon.

Is it possible to just translate the webtoon without scanlating it? I mean translate the webtoon, put the translation into a word document or something, so the webtoon doesn't have to be uploaded on webtoonlive website. So we read the raws on naver while reading the translation in another document. I'm sure if we do this, it will do no harm on the author because we're reading the webtoon directly from naver and the translation itself won't do any harm as long as the webtoon isn't scanlated. How about this?

I'll be so sad if the translation of the webtoon stop so I won't know what the hell they're saying T_____T And when chapter 25 seems really interesting T________T

Wouldn't it be okay to continue translating Cheese in the Trap as long we you don't typeset it?

1. Translate
2. Proofread
3. Save in an Image file - to prevent people lifting the translation easily

This way English speakers will all visit the authors blog AND read your translations.

Actually I would be happier if it was done this way, since I would feel like I am "paying" the author each time I visit her site.

Cheese in the trap is like the josei version of noblesse - in how interesting it is~ please continue translating at least

EDIT: the above poster got there before me.

That bites. Thanks scanlation team for trying though. Is it possible to have a summary written for the chapter if it's not translated?

... the author is a male? D: (somehow that's the part that surprised me most...)

The same thing happened with Pink Lady in the past, so although I didn't expect it, I'm not too surprised. I wonder if it will become a trend though, causing other series like Noblesse etc. to follow suite (that'd be awful).

The super-ideal version is if they'd allow English versions on their site, even if fan-scanlated ones, so they get the advertisement income anyway and we get our English scan, but that'd probably be too complicated for them.

So.... do we discuss the raws from now on? In the original thread or in this one?

That's exactly what we are trying to do ^^, but it will probably take some time until we can (if we ever may). And if not we can always try to come up with other solutions :p

Do keep us updated on the authors reply - i would be insanely happy if the author really did agreed to allow English scans on her site...
