Part 3 Chapter 15: Threat (1)

In Ho regrets his previous proclamation that he would do piano again. But he cannot take it back in worries about what Jung and Sul would say to him when he withdraws. He encounters In Ha in front of his new place and unpleasantly surprised. In Ha says she was kicked out of her apartment. She asks(tells) In Ho to pay for her rent in the housing she's currently staying at- a gositel(small cheap student room for rent that does not require long-term contract) but says she will take care of her living cost herself. She also suggests that she and In Ho find a studio to live together in near future. In Ho now realizes what Jung was talking about in the previous chapter. In Ha says "It's your sister, dude. Smile!" but In Ho swears he will kill off Jung.

Jung gets an email with attached team project file from Minsoo and he finds her part of work quite agreeable.
A while later, he recalls his father pressuring little Jung and his talking to Sul in Part 1(don't know where the flashback came from)
Jung: "It's good just the way it is"
Sul: "You are doing it again!"
He types on the screen "Why do you not understand me?"

He gets a call from his father and the father talks about In Ha visiting him and his sternly telling her off at least this time. But Jung's father still feels kind of empty sending Baek siblings away. He wish Baek siblings and Jung were together like real siblings like the old days. Jung says he never once wanted siblings and never asked his father to bring one. Even if he had wanted siblings before, their not getting along means that they'd better not spend time together too much. He continues "To be honest, I feel the most distance from them than from any other people in the world. more than what I feel with other friends, classmates, " When the father starts to say something back, Jung interrupts.
"Baek In Ho's hand, was not my doing." "You, father, had already seen the attackers and still thought I was the one who did that to him. You just believed Baek In Ha's words without doubting. Is that why they are so endearing to you?" "I am your real son. Why don't you believe me? I know why. You've always branded me as a weirdo since I was a little boy... That's why you don't believe me. But I am not a weirdo. I am not strange."
Sul recalls the fight between Jung and In Ho.(The whale picture comes from a Korean saying "A fight between whales breaks a shrimp's back") She doesn't know to what extent she should involve herself or just keep off. The argument the other day made her displeased by the two, especially Sun Bae.
She doesn't want to worry about these stuffs since she has a lot going on with her life, part-time library job, schoolworks to make sure to get the scholarship, and the team project, and people who makes her school life uneasy. She does not expect that it will just work out well without any trouble based on her past experience. Her two personalities give competing opinions. One suggests she should trust her gut feeling and talk to Sunbae about it properly, The other says that she should just forget it and focus on her study.
She thinks that Young Gon always bluffs about things he is not going to actually do and even if he wants to make troubles she has a card in her hand to counter him.
Sul gets a package from Mona via Jun. Jun asks if Sul got any message from kumquat. Jun mumbles that he is disappointed that kumquat doesn't initiate contact.
What was in the package turns out to be a pair of pants. It's Mona's design on sale in her internet shopping mall and she says Sul should wear them and send her a picture as a proof. Sul thinks the design is too different from what she normally wears. But she thinks of Min Soo and Min Soo's recent style change. Sul thinks there's been too many occasions of style overlap to just consider them coincidental. She thinks the most probable thing is Min Soo's intentionally copying Sul but still there are not many things she can actively do in this situation.
She ventures to wear the pants to school. Bora teases her for Sul's new change but also compliments on them. Sul gets a few more compliments from other classmates and feels relieved. Young Gon passes with a deriding remark on her pants. Then Sul encounters Min Soo who looks negatively stunned by this new change. Min Soo asks Sul about the pants and where Sul got them but Sul answers that she got them from internet but she cannot remember the name of the website. Sul feels that she might have been a little childish but feels somewhat lightened. Sul worries that Min Soo might copy these pants too.
Min Soo gets a (mild?) panic attack and in her imagination classmates comment on Sul's pants that Sul looks so pretty today and she might be the prettiest girl in her major now with Joo Yeon's absence. Girls say that Sul is so cool and chic, and Min Soo cannot ever be comparable to Sul. Sul feels Min Soo's stare from the back. Min Soo quietly mumbles "You never wore those kinds of things. Since when did you start wearing those...Where did you buy those.." From behind, Young Gon senses what's going on here.

Min Soo is going koo koo.

and just when i was starting to feel okay about Min Soo she goes all creepy again!!
i'm not sure how to react to Jung though...like I'm fairly sure he has serious problems, but even him typing out the "why don't you understand" he was thinking in his head and the fact that he verbalized his issues with his dad about InHo's injury almost seems like improvement. he's actually talking about the things that bother him now and not pretending they don't exist while he "fixes" things in the background so the problems "disappear" without anyone else realizing. is there hope for his relationship with Sul to continue moving forward? I certainly don't think he would be acting like this if he hadn't met Sul and I still can't help but want them to end up together for real...

The flash back of Jung saying "It's fine how it is." is from the summer vacation arc, a couple episodes before he asks her out. It's when they both talk about their dads.

I like her pants. Good move MoNa.

... is Jung really not the one responsible for In Ho's hand? In Ha's the one who told on him. Knowing In Ha, it really could be In Ha accusing Jung out of spite... I'm glad that Jung's father seems to be taking a harder stance against the Baek siblings, but it seems he's still making the mistake of showing more affection to outsiders than to his own son, causing his son to feel neglected. It's bad enough that Jung's mother never seems to be around.

Those pants... so ridiculous. X"D And Min Soo is a creep. D: Damn, she's going to be used by Young Gon, isn't she. D:

So Jung's entirely conscious of how Sul and (possibly) his dad see him. It seems he's also trying to convince himself that he's normal tho?

I wonder what set off Min Soo more.
The fact that Sul mixed up her style a bit or that Sul won't tell her where she got it.
Honestly, I don't get why Sul didn't just say it was a gift and just left it at that. Then she'd have an excuse as to why she couldn't tell her where she got it (plus it's technically true)

Her way of hinting to Min Soo that she's getting unbearable?

I mean, everyone has some aspects of Min Soo. You're walking around campus and you see someone in a nice bright skirt and you go, "Oh, that's nice. Maybe I'll buy a nice bright skirt the next time I'm down shopping." Or if you're looking through a magazine and see a fashion model with really cool pants and go, "Oh, I guess that's in style right now. It doesn't look bad! Maybe I'll buy a pair of those?" But pinning on a certain individual and obsessively copying every aspect of that person (their hair, their clothes, their entire personality??) is definitely a problem. And then painting that individual as evil when that person tries to change and finds them uncomfortable? Min Soo seems to have some sort of issues going on. She needs help. NOW. BEFORE YOUNG GON GETS TO HER.

I think In Ha is behind In Ho's accident. She probs blamed Jung to throw suspicion. Also they kind of hinted at the person who broke his hand and he seemed to already hate In Ho so maybe he did it without being manipulated at all. Or I'm thinking someone (cough cough In Ha) told him something like "In Ho thinks he's better than you."

I have a feeling Young Gon will do something so people will start saying that Sul keeps copying Min Soo's style.

That would be interesting. But who would believe it? Sul always dressed like that. I wonder what Jung would think of Sul's style change.
